Welcome to Catalpa Tree Shops, where we have been providing resources for spiritual, mental, and physical growth for over 30 years. Our story began with a seed thought, a realization that there was a great need for individuals to have access to materials that would help them on their journey towards a greater understanding of "All that is."
Our founder, a seasoned teacher with a passion for motivating others, initially started offering motivational materials and classes. However, as she delved deeper into the esoteric realms, she recognized the need for a resource center that would provide a variety of tools, books, music, and classes to aid seekers in their personal growth.
After patiently planning and preparing, we opened our doors on April 1, 1986, in a building already known as The Catalpa Tree Shops. Over the years, we have expanded our inventory and class offerings to meet the needs of our community. We pride ourselves on listening to our customers and responding to their requests.
At Catalpa Tree Shops, we believe that all books and music have a purpose, and we stock a large variety of both. Our knowledgeable staff is always available to talk with you and help you find materials that speak to your areas of interest. We also offer special orders for those hard-to-find items.
The catalpa tree is the perfect symbol for our business, representing growth, deep roots, and seasons of change. We strive to cultivate an environment that supports personal growth and spiritual development. We also network with other resource people in the area to provide referrals to our customers.

MARJORIE COE
Once upon a time, the universe whispered to Marjorie Coe, urging her to create a haven for seekers to discover the mystical and magical secrets of the cosmos. With her deep knowledge and passion for all things metaphysical, Marjorie founded Catalpa Tree Shops over 30 years ago, filling it with books, music, and tools to help others on their journey of self-discovery.
Through the years, Marjorie's vision grew, and the shop blossomed into a place of deep roots and ever-growing branches. With the help of the growing local mystical community that Marjorie helped initiate, Marjorie's dream took flight, becoming a playful and joyful place where customers could find inspiration, knowledge, and friendship.
Although Marjorie passed in July of 2022, her spirit lives on in the magic that she infused into Catalpa Tree Shops. As she watches over from the great beyond, she smiles at the thought of her daughter and son-in-law carrying on her legacy, spreading joy and magic to all who walk through the doors of the shop. Thank you, Marjorie, for planting the seed that grew into the enchanted haven of Catalpa Tree Shops.
TOM FEREIRA
Tom Fereira was more than just a longtime employee and manager of Catalpa Tree Shops - he was a beloved member of the mystical community who touched the lives of everyone he met. His unexpected passing in October of 2022 left a hole in the hearts of his colleagues, customers, and friends.
Tom's gift was his ability to connect with people and help guide them on their spiritual journeys. He had a wealth of knowledge about the metaphysical world, but more importantly, he knew how to listen to the little voice inside each person and help them find their own direction.
Tom's little guides, as he called them, were a constant source of wisdom and inspiration. He was always eager to share messages and insights with anyone who walked through the doors of Catalpa Tree Shops. His kindness, compassion, and infectious spirit made the shop a magical and welcoming place for everyone who visited.
Tom's passing was a great loss to the Catalpa Tree Shops family and the wider mystical community. His spirit will forever be a guiding light for those who seek to connect with the mystical world and find their own path in life.
